Feinkost Fisch Lisner

Lisner, a company with more than 30 years of history in Poland, has announced the completion of the process of acquisition of the significant part of the business formerly owned by the Graal Group. The transaction is a key step in the long-term strategy of strengthening the Lisner's market position. The manufacturer, whose products have been present on Polish tables for years, emphasises that the incorporation of Graal into its structures is aimed at expanding its business by integrating two entities with complementary product portfolios.

News of Lisner's planned purchase of Graal first emerged in February 2023. A few weeks later, an application for approval of the transaction was submitted to the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, which issued a positive decision in September 2024. The finalisation of the agreement was announced on 29 November this year.

Thus, Lisner Holding Sp. z o.o has taken control of Graal S.A. through Greenwich Investments, acquiring 100% of the company’s shares. As a result of the agreement, the owners of the Graal Group will divest the business segment comprising the production and sale of canned fish, ready meals and marinades.

"The combination of Lisner's and Graal's experience and achievements will allow our position on the market to be strengthened and our offer to be broadened, customising it even more effectively. At the same time, this transaction symbolically closes an important and long period in the history of both companies, opening a new chapter - a joint development. We are committed to continuing cooperation with our trusted suppliers and partners in order to jointly deliver quality products that are the foundation of our reputation. We want to focus on the exchange of knowledge and experience between employees, which will allow for the full development of the potential of the people who stand behind the success of both brands", emphasises Michal Mildner, CEO and member of the management board at Lisner.

Lisner has been operating in Poland since 1991 and is now part of the international Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller (UTM). Its head office and main production facility are located in Poznan. The second factory, located near Kołobrzeg, was purchased in 2016. Since then, Lisner has completed numerous investments there with a view to modernisation and expansion. The company offers jobs to more than 1,500 people, focusing not only on creating a stable and modern organisation, but also on building lasting relationships with the business environment. Such an approach allows the Lisner's position as a reliable and responsible partner in the Polish food industry to be strengthened while enjoying the continued trust of Polish consumers.

Thanks to the financial backing of the UTM, Lisner invests in new technologies and innovative environmentally friendly solutions, while maintaining its local character. This helps to shape an organisational culture that combines the atmosphere of a family-owned company with high labour standards. Lisner plans to pursue the same approach with the newly acquired plants.

“As the only company in Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller, we are involved in fish production. This gives us considerable autonomy in creating our development strategy as well as freedom to shape our working methods and organisational values, while benefiting from all the synergies resulting from being part of the Group. By maintaining our operational independence, we can adapt to the needs of the Polish market in a flexible way and support local communities”, says Michal Mildner, CEO and member of the management board at Lisner.
