In 1971 Theo Müller took over his father's dairy in Aretsried, Bavaria - at that time with only four employees. Aretsried is thus the nucleus of the globally successful Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller. Molkerei Alois Müller GmbH & Co KG, located in a Nature Park, has developed into a modern large dairy over the past four decades.
Around 1,300 employees work at the Aretsried site in a total of seven companies - from the dairy to the own fruit processing natural farm, the own logistics company Culina, Optipack's own pot production and the own truck service station FTA.
This is where the roots of the Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller lie. The Molkerei Alois Müller dairy was founded in the Swabian village of Aretsried. The historical structure is still visible today. The dairy is integrated into the village, so to speak, and is an essential part of the village image of "Downtown Aretsried".
With heart and soul, consistent entrepreneurship and strong will, the basis for the rapid growth from a village dairy to an international food company was created here.
We offer our employees at the location many attractive discounts and events. These include regular staff parties and free tickets for professional league ice hockey matches. Who has the opportunity to celebrate the world's biggest buttermilk party with 399 colleagues and 71,000 other fans or to meet their star in person at the Christmas party?
During the working day our employees have fully filled refrigerators with delicious products at their disposal for free consumption. Excellent coffee, Müller drinks and well water are also available free of charge. Employee families are supported with a subsidy in the local crèche. Our laundry service will pick up your laundry and bring it to the office. And for your days off, the company's own mountain hut is available.
Augsburg is one of the oldest cities in Germany. The medieval Fuggers founded the wealth of the city and made Augsburg a cultural centre. This can still be seen today in the charming old town and the diverse cultural offerings. The up-and-coming university city offers student flair, inexpensive shopping facilities and excellent train connections to the state capital Munich.
Who doesn't know it: The hometown of Berthold Brecht and Leopold Mozart makes the dolls dance. The world-famous puppet theatre is a must see. Just like the modern Brecht and the famous open-air stage as well as opera, drama and ballet.
Water has always played an important role in Augsburg. Who would have thought: Allegedly there are more bridges here than in Venice. A lot is happening on the water: The famous ice channel was an Olympic canoe course and is an institution in international canoeing. Waterski and wakeboard facilities are waiting for hobby athletes in the vicinity. And those who want it more comfortable can relax at the many bathing lakes or in the thermal baths - body, mind and soul.
Augsburg is dotted with many green "oases". The city forest, the Wertach- and Lechauen give life here a special quality. The Western Forests Nature Park, in the surrounding area of Aretsried, begins only 20 minutes by bike from the town hall. 2,500 km of marked cycling and hiking trails invite you to jog, mountain biking, Nordic walking and hiking.
A strong argument for our location: Even if you do not want to live in the countryside and prefer the city, you benefit from a short, stress-free and fast journey. The journey to work from the city of Augsburg takes only 20 minutes. With anti-cyclical oscillation, you literally ignore the usual rush hour.
