1876 Fritz Homann founds a meat and sausage factory in Dissen am Teutoburger Wald, where he also starts margarine production a few years later. 20 years after its foundation, the expansion of margarine production leads to the discontinuation of production and sales of meat and sausage products and HOMANN expands its range to include deli salads, fish deli remoulades, spreads, dressings and seasoning sauces. As a result, the company opened its first deli plant in Dissen in 1961.
Today HOMANN is the market leader in deli salads and the leading manufacturer of fish deli, dressings and sauces.
Here is the home of our deli division, at the Teutoburger Wald and in the city triangle Münster - Osnabrück - Bielefeld. We look back on a long history. HOMANN was founded in 1876, grew continuously and has been part of the Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller since 2011. The HOMANN Group administration works at the site and deli salads and sauces are produced.
Here in Dissen everything revolves around the small moments of enjoyment for in between: Delicious for bread, delicious grill side dishes, fine sauces and fresh fish.
We meet regularly in running and cycling groups. At various sporting events in the region, such as the Hermann Run and the Run-and-Roll-Day, we then run to top form, our football fans compete annually at internal tournaments.
Intense green forests and wide heaths, dotted with rugged rocks, offer fantastic views and breathtaking trails. The Teutoburger Wald gives its best as a true world of experience for the senses.
On the way to Dissen you will see beautiful characteristic half-timbered houses and farmsteads. The region has developed its very specific construction method. No house is like the other, many are lovingly decorated with individual details.
From Dissen, it goes into the city in every direction. Besides Osnabrück, Bielefeld and Münster are not far away. The charming towns score with a historic old town combined with student flair. The many green spaces in and around the cities offer quality of life. With more bicycles than inhabitants and an excellent network of cycle paths, Münster is considered the bicycle capital.
Small but great - in the student cities, things are going very well. Especially the many live bands give the nightlife a special touch. Especially beautiful: a wide variety of culinary delights and trendy clubs are waiting for you in a confined space - all within easy reach. A relaxed pleasure.
The region is a true healing garden, thanks to the numerous brine springs. Many spas and Kneipp spas are nearby. In the neighbouring village of Dissen stands a graduation house - the landmark of Bad Rothenfelde. The brine flows over the several hundred meter long structure of blackthorn brushwood. The sparkling fresh air is a relief for the respiratory tract. The impressive building is regularly used for other purposes: it serves international stars of the video and light art scene as a projection surface for a unique, sensory exhilarating experience.
Moin, Moin or Hoi - whether you are drawn north or west: the North Sea is only a stone's throw away. In just under two hours you will feel the sand under your feet, look into endless expanses and let your soul dangle.
