Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller to focus on the fish and dressing divisions with Homann and Nadler in future

Following the investment in dressing production at the Lintorf site, the next step in the further development of the non-dairy division of Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller has now been taken: after the successful sale of the deli salads division, Homann Feinkost GmbH will in future focus on the fish and dressing divisions. In future, NB Manufaktur GmbH & Co. KG, a company of the Wernsing Food Family GmbH & Co. KG, will take over the Bottrop site. Salad production at the Dissen site will be discontinued at the turn of the year. The HOMANN brand will in future be managed by the Dutch salad producer Signature Foods BV. Homann Feinkost GmbH, a subsidiary of Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller, will continue to sell dressings and sauces under the HOMANN brand and fish products under the Nadler brand.

Luxembourg, 29 June 2021 – Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller is selling the deli salads division of Homann Feinkost GmbH and will focus on dressings, sauces and fish products in future. "By focusing on our already successful dressing and fish divisions, we are taking another important step in the strategic further development of Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller in the non-dairy sector," says Marcus Almeling, Chief Financial Officer of Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller. Since April of this year, Almeling has been responsible for the entire non-dairy area in the Group in addition to his previous duties.

In the last two years, Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller has invested more than 170 million euros in the Lintorf site. One of the most modern plants for dressing production in Europe is currently being built there. Now comes the sale of the deli salads division. The HOMANN deli salads brand will in future be continued by Signature Foods BV, the best-known and largest salad producer in the Netherlands. Homann Feinkost GmbH will continue to produce and sell sauces and dressings under the HOMANN brand name and fish products under the Nadler brand.

The plant in Bottrop, which produces private label products as well as Nadler brand products, will in future be operated by NB Manufaktur GmbH & Co. KG. Marcus Almeling: "With NB Manufaktur GmbH & Co. KG, we have found a buyer for the Bottrop site that offers good conditions for the positive further development of the site with its approximately 200 qualified employees."

In the course of the restructuring, salad production at the Dissen site with 400 employees will have to be terminated at the turn of the year. Deli salads have been produced there until now. "For a long time, we looked for perspectives together with our employees in order to keep the location. In the end, this was not feasible from an economic point of view.

The insight and the associated decision were not easy for us. We have already started talks with the local employee representatives in order to find socially acceptable solutions for the employees and thus create clarity for all those affected as quickly as possible," Almeling continues.
