Culina Group, a subsidiary of the Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller, is continuing its successful acquisition strategy of recent years with the purchase of the British GreenWhiteStar Ltd. Culina Group is now not only the market leader in the FMCG and food retail logistics segment, but is also one of the three largest solution providers in the entire logistics and warehousing sector in the UK.

Luxembourg, 1 July 2021 - With the acquisition of the British GreenWhiteStar Ltd. on 1 July 2021, Culina Group, part of the Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller, will become the largest logistics and warehousing provider in the FMCG and food retail logistics segment and, after DHL and XPO Logistics, the third largest logistics partner in the whole of Great Britain.

In addition to the logistics business under the Eddie Stobart and Eddie Stobart Europe brands, GreenWhiteStar Ltd. also includes iForce, a solution provider for fulfilment, returns processing and carrier management, The Pallet Network and The Logistics People, a staffing and recruitment company specialising in the distribution sector.

With the acquisition, the logistics business of the Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller comprises around 22,000 employees, 5,500 vehicles and 2 million square metres of warehouse space. The contribution of the logistics division to the total turnover of the Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller will thus double to around 2 billion euros in 2020. The same applies to the number of employees in the logistics division: this was around 11,700 in 2020.

"GreenWhiteStar and the Culina Group are two companies that complement each other perfectly. Both are organisations with similar entrepreneurial ideas that enjoy a good reputation in the industry. A combination of both companies will benefit both our employees and our customers ", says Thomas van Mourik, CEO of Culina Group. With the acquisition, Willliam Stobart, former Executive Chairman of GreenWhiteStar, will join the board of Culina Logistics as Deputy CEO.

"Dairy products represent the core of our business today, as they will continue to do in the future. However, the successful further development of our deli business and our logistics division are also important cornerstones for the profitable growth of the Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller and support diversification. With the acquisition of GreenWhiteStar Ltd. we are now taking a big step in this direction. As planned, the Group will thus exceed the turnover threshold of seven billion euros for the first time," says Marcus Almeling, Chief Financial Officer of the Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller.
