The foundation stone for a new production building was laid yesterday in Aretsried, Swabia, the site of Molkerei Alois Müller GmbH, which belongs to Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller. It will house state-of-the-art equipment for filling, sorting and cleaning returnable jars and significantly expand the production capacity for yoghurt at the site.

Completion of the building with a total area of around 4,500m² on two floors is planned for summer 2025, with production scheduled to start in the first half of 2026. 50 new qualified positions will be filled as part of the investment.

Christian Goldammer, Head of Operations and responsible for the production site: “Investments in production are always a highlight, also for the employees, as they are associated with the further development of the entire site. This time is no exception. We are therefore delighted to be commissioning a filling line for yoghurts in returnable jars for the first time at our plant in 2026.”

Cornelia Heiser, Managing Director Brand Müller Germany and responsible for the Müller, Landliebe and Weihenstephan brands: "This investment is an important step for one of the Landliebe brand's iconic products, yoghurt in a jar, which will be bottled in Aretsried from 2026. The site is the birthplace of the Müller brand, which has developed from here to its current strength. With the same spirit, we now want to help the Landliebe brand regain its former strength in the market."

In total, Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller has invested around 140 million euros in the Aretsried site over the past ten years, including a new high-bay warehouse, an extension to the administration building and now the new production building. Once again, the company is continuing its tradition of working with local companies wherever possible.
