Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller continues profitable growth: Elinas and Lünebest now part of the product family
Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller has successfully completed the acquisition of the trademark rights and products of the Elinas and Lünebest brands from Hochwald
Foods GmbH. The transaction includes the Lüneburg site with 150 employees. Local production will be maintained.
Dr Bernd Metzner, CFO of Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller: "Our goal is to achieve profitable growth, particularly in those markets and segments where we
have outstanding expertise. Following our recent investments – primarily in Germany and the United Kingdom – this acquisition consistently underlines the implementation of our growth strategy."
Cornelia Heiser, Managing Director of the Müller Germany Business Unit and now responsible for Elinas and Lünebest in addition to the Müller, Landliebe and Weihenstephan brands: "The acquisition complements the Group's dairy product portfolio, primarily with Greek-style yoghurts, an area in which UTM has previously been represented in Germany mainly with private labels."
Cornelia Heiser continues: "We are delighted to welcome this fitting addition to our product family in a dynamically developing product segment. Following approval by
the antitrust authorities shortly before Christmas, we were able to complete the acquisition within a short period of time. Our team of colleagues from the Müller Germany business unit and various Group Functions has once again demonstrated its capabilities. Another important factor in our success was the excellent cooperation – to the extent permitted by antitrust law – with our colleagues at Hochwald Foods GmbH and the employees in Lüneburg. I am delighted that we can now really get started and successfully develop the portfolio further together with the local employees."
