Following the approval of the antitrust authorities in Germany and Austria at the end of February 2023, the acquisition of the majority of the German business of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. was successfully completed on 1 April 2023.

Accordingly, the 670 employees of the former FrieslandCampina Germany locations in Cologne, Heilbronn and Schefflenz were welcomed to the Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller today. 

With the completion of the acquisition, the Landliebe, Mondelice, Südmilch and Puddis brands, as well as the Gastro food service and, under temporary licence, the Optiwell and Fruttis brands, are now part of the dairy products portfolio of the Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller. The contribution of the acquisition to the total turnover of the Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller amounts to around 300 million euros as of today.

Marcus Almeling, CFO and within the Group Executive Board responsible for the branded dairy business, comments: “The Landliebe brand is not only very popular among consumers in Germany, it also enjoys a very high level of trust. It fits in perfectly with our existing, strong brands. With its positioning in the market it is perfectly located between our successful Müller and Weihenstephan brands.”

After the operational takeover, the aim is to integrate the acquisition into our business as quickly and as effectively as possible.
